Kansas City Southern's "Ghost" Locomotives

It's been repored that there were two white-painted KCS passenger E-units; one of them was EMD-built E8A 27. The 2250-hp locomotive began service on the railroad in February 1952, along with sisters 26, 28 and 29; they wore the Southern Belle colors at the time. Two months before 27 was sold to C&NW as 5032B, it was photographed in Shreveport, LA on 9 November 1969. (W.D. Caileff Jr. Photo)
