VIA #6777 Disposition: George W. Hockaday

George W. Hockaday, remembered by many railroaders and fans as "Mr Alco," purchased ex-VIA Rail 6777 in September 1993. The locomotive was significantly restored inside and out and given a new blue and silver, D&H inspired war-bonnet paint scheme. The flat-nose MLW was leased temporarily in 1994 to the Cuyahoga Valley Line (CVL) as their #14. The tourist line later purchased the 1800-hp passenger hauler and re-numbered it back to 6777. (R.
