VIA #6789 Disposition: Monticello Railway Museum

In the summer of 2014, twenty-six streamlined cab-units assembled at the transportation museum in North Carolina for the historic "Streamliners at Spencer" event. A wide range of locomotive models built by Alco, EMD and MLW during the 1930s, 40 & 50s were on-hand for the occasion. Flat-nosed NKP PA1 190 and CNR FPA4 6789 were a welcomed contrast to the scores of bull-dog nose passenger and freight haulers that represented the locomotive builder from LaGrange. This May 30th shot shows ex-CNR the 6789 doing one of several photo run-bys on the day. The Montreal-built CNR 6789 was on loan from the Monticello Railway Museum in Illinois. MRM also has ex-CN FPB4 #6862 which is privately owned and not seen in this photograph. (R. Craig photo)
