To mark the 200th Anniversary of the U.S. in 1976, ATSF custom-painted four SD45-2s in a
red/whit/blue Bi-Centennial scheme. Built in June 1973, #5704 was restored during spring 2022.

Midwest Overland Preservation Society and its volunteers have done a remarkable job restoring
Milwaukee Road "Bicentennial" #156 -- Just in time for the country's semi-quincentennial celebration.

Built in 1926 for the Delaware Lackawanna & Western, 60-ton Ingersoll-Rand #91 received a
patriotic-inspired r/w/b paint scheme for the U.S. Bicentennial Celebration. Fifty years later,
Illinois Railway Museum volunteers renewed the uniques color scheme in time for the 250th
