General Electric has been building large and small locomotives since the mid-1920s. Fortunately
several examples of first-generation diesel and early electric technology have escaped the
cutting torch and found homes in railroad museums or have become permanent outdoor "tombstone"
exhibits. This web section attempts to document their existence and identify current location.
Your corrections and additions are solicited.
Second-generation GE models that can still be commonly found in revenue service are not included. |
